Warren's Story
Warren has held Senior Executive positions at prestigious, multi- billion dollar retailers throughout his extensive career in retail and wholesale. He cut his teeth as a store manager in Gimbel's Department store, and later ascended up the corporate ladder. As Divisional Controller at May Merchandising Company, a subsidiary of The May Department Stores Company, Warren managed $1.5 Billion in merchandise for 10 international offices.
After a twenty year tenure at May Merchandising Company, Warren opened and operated a Liberty Tax Service franchise. This office served over 1,200 individual and small business clients annually, and was consistently ranked as the top office in the St. Louis Metro Area as well as the Top 100 Offices Nationally.
Warren was recruited as the first internal Chief Financial Officer for Cejon Accessories, Inc., a private label accessories manufacturer and licensing powerhouse for Steve Madden. Cejon supplies accessories for some of the biggest names in retail, including Bloomingdales, Bon-Ton, The Bay, Lord & Taylor, Macy's, Nordstrom, Steve Madden, and Zappos. Warren transformed accounting and payroll functions, developed operating procedures, and internal controls.
Due to his successful results and achievements, Warren was recruited by the Chief Financial Officer of Lord and Taylor Department Stores to assist in the formation of a new company, Creative Design Studios (CDS). The CDS subsidiary aimed to expand Lord and Taylor's private-label wholesale and manufacturing capabilities for Women's and Men's Ready-to -Wear and Accessories, including new collaborations with celebrity designers. At Creative Design Studios, Warren built Finance, Operations, and IT departments, structured complex international sourcing capabilities, developed all internal and external policies and procedures, refined financial practices, created reporting systems, and assembled regulatory oversight.
After successfully launching CDS, Warren moved on to become the Chief Financial Officer for Claypool Resources, LLC, an outdoor living consumer goods company developing and distributing products to the biggest mass-merchants and Internet-based retailers across the United States, including Walmart and Amazon.
In 2014, Warren started his own financial services practice, providing accounting, business planning, forecasting, operations, and logistical services for both established business and start-ups. His isolation of client-specific opportunities for improvement successfully increased double-digit profitability and catalyzed impressive growth for many of his clients.
